First Impression: Gumpert Apollo

Germany is responsible for producing high perfomance cars. Germany is home to Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and has produced the Porsche Carrera GT, Audi R8, and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Germany is also home to the Gumpert, which was founded in 2005, and the Gumpert Apollo, one of the fastest cars on the market.I first saw the Gumpert Apollo at the October 2010 edition of Houston Cars

Gumpert Hybrid Apollo

Gumpert has revealed a new hybrid car to participate in the 24 Hours Nurburgring Race. The 24 Hours Nurburgring race will take place from 24 until 25 May 2008.

The Hybrid Apollo is powered by a 100 kW electric motor and a 3.3 liter V8 bi-turbo petrol engine producing 630 hp. The electric motor will be recharged when the car brakes.

The Apollo will compete against Porsche 911 GT3, Dodge Viper, Lamborghini Gallardo, BMW Z4 and Chevrolet Corvette during the race.
